Visit of the Kursk Root Icon of the Most-Holy Theotokos to St Elizabeth's Church - 12/15/09
On the evening of Tuesday, 2 / 15 December 2009, the Orthodox Church of St Elizabeth the New-Martyr was honored to receive the Wonderworking Icon of the Most-Holy Mother of God for the fourth time in its history. A Moleben with the Akathist to the Theotokos was sung. The church was overflowing with worshipers. Seven priests were present, six of whom concelebrated the Service of Supplication, along with a Protodeacon. After everyone had had a chance to pray before and venerate the Holy Icon, known as the Directress of the Russian Orthodox Church Abroad, a lenten meal was served at the Rocky Hill Fire House.
